Faces of Roatan was a show we produced at Shawn Jackson Gallery featuring Black & White portraits of older generation islanders. The photos were taken using natural light and we created a series of 13 faces in the initial series. From the Faces of Roatan Book:
"We set out to capture a few of the faces that make up the tiny island of Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras. These portraits of older generation islanders are raw and real, recognizing the everday histories that make up our collective past. "
Faces of Roatan Postcard Program
We are excited to be launching a new program in which we partner with some of the familiar faces you have seen in our Faces of Roatan show. Using the Black & White portraits from the show, we will print postcards featuring the individual's face with part of their bio on the back of the postcard. These postcards will be made avaiable (at no cost to the individual) to sell for their own profit.
The program will start small, with only a select few of the initial group starting out in the pilot program. Then, with the support of the community, we hope to have the Postcard Program become a staple part of the Faces of Roatan series and those series that we hope to produce in the future.
